Every day after school tutoring will be available to all students. There will be 4-5 teachers Monday-Thursday to help you with homework and projects. You can still check out library books and computers so don’t forget your ID card.
Monday, Sept 10th, we officially open. Thanks to ROTC for moving all the remaining textbooks into the storage area and for the team who steam cleaned our carpets over the weekend! I’m excited to open our doors so students can check out SSR books and computers to use for school research. Stop by the Book Club table at Club Rush 9/19 to learn more about the club and meet new people.
As we come to the end of 2007, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on our success this year (at least in terms of hard data) Here is a snapshot of our Year End Statistics:
The library served:
351 students during each school day (up 97 from last year)
58 students after school from 3-5 pm daily (up 21 from last year)
465 classes signed up for library research periods
Library staff checked out:
71 library books per day for a total of 10,610 (up 1,180 from last year)
53 computers per day for a total of 8,170 (up 2,268 from last year)
(and we only have 12 computers!)
Students performed:
19,788 searches on EBSCOhost newspaper and magazine database
76,000 searches on Grolier Online Encyclopedia database
1,339 viedoes were streamed or downloaded from Untied Streaming Video database
Students visited the library website 17,068 times this year!
We added 1,014 new books to the collection and over 800 more are on their way!
